Once Upon a Time Stood a Tree

By Dailysunr – Poetry Desk – Poem by Tori V

“Once Upon a Time, a Tree” is a spoken word journey through memory, emotion, and silent confession. In this hauntingly reflective poem, the tree is more than nature. Itโ€™s a listener and a sanctuary. It is also a keeper of untold truths. As you move through the verses, you are accompanied by cinematic visuals and poetic narration. Youโ€™ll meet the brave, the broken, the lovers, and the liars. You’ll also meet the quiet witness that stood for centuries until envy came wearing an axe. This piece is part of Wonder Poetry. It is a collection by Tori V. The collection explores storytelling at the crossroads of art, science, and soul.

Once upon a time stood a tree.
Then one dayโ€ฆ it stood no more.

It had listened for centuriesโ€”
To laughter, to sorrow, to unspoken truths.
From lovers beneath its shade,
To liars who told the truth for once.

It didnโ€™t judge.
It just held space.
For secrets. For healing. For humanity.

But envy came wearing an axe.
And silence fell.

The bark no longer echoed.
The stories stayed unread.

Now only memory sits beneath that empty sky,
Where a tree once stood,
Still whispering in the hearts
Of those who dared to speak beneath it.

This is Wonder Poetry.
Thisโ€ฆ was the tree.
